Grand Finale at the Wallraf-Richartz Museum

Before the Wallraf-Richartz Museum & Fondation Corboud closes on August 3, 2026, for a two-year comprehensive renovation, the museum invites visitors to a special farewell weekend.

Big Farewell Party on Friday, July 31

Under the theme “A Night To Remember,” the museum will be transformed into an extraordinary party venue from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.: More than 50 guided tours, live music, dance performances, bars on every floor, and DJs in the foyer will make for an unforgettable night. If you’d like, you can get a Wallraf tattoo or have your portrait drawn by an artist. Tickets are available online for 15 euros at RAUSGEGANGEN or at the museum’s box office.

Free admission to the museum during the farewell weekend

If you happen to miss the big farewell party, you’ll still have time on August 1 and 2 to say goodbye to Cologne’s oldest museum and its numerous treasures—for free. On both days, the Wallraf will be open to everyone free of charge from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. In the foyer, older catalogs and Wallraf bags will be given away, and visitors can snag some great deals at a sale in the museum shop.
