Simply taking an old scripture in your hand and reading it is harder than it sounds, as old books are stored securely against light, temperature fluctuations, and fingerprints, and are not loaned out. This is challenge for many scientists who are not “on site”. The solution: The “digital collection” of the KunstBibliothek Köln – meaning the Art and Museum Library of the City of Cologne (KMB), the University and City Library of Cologne (USB), and the Library of the Art History Institute of the University of Cologne and its partners [ ] – contains digitised publications on art, from medieval incunabula to books from the 1920s.
