We are in the 17th century. Baroque painter Peter Paul Rubens is capturing the Roman pantheon in his paintings. He focuses on a particularly uncommon, gory mythological scene: But what happened? Take a close look! Argus, the all-seeing, was dead. His eyes went on to decorate the plumage of a consecrated peacock. Was it Juno, the wife of Jupiter? Art commissioner Kunz is on the case. The series “Explain art to me” is the beginning of a journey through our museums, in which works of art are explained and brought to life while visitors are invited to take a closer look.
