Knowing how artists work makes it easier to understand them. And you quickly notice that big works usually start out small. Max Ernst used simple resources that everyone has at home to work and create his art. This technique is now referred to as “frottage”. Much like how you wipe yourself off with terrycloth, you can rub things with a rough surface against paper. So get your paper and pencil, and let’s go!
