Romano-Germanic Museum

Cologne’s history began over 2000 years ago with the Romans. Commanders and emperors, merchants and craftspeople, soldiers and gladiators, children and adults all left their mark on the city. These are located deep beneath the city we know now. To this day, archaeologists are still finding mundane, astonishing, and mysterious artefacts from the Roman period. These are on display at the museum, and each tells a story about how the Romans lived along the Rhine.
