Filmforum NRW

With its unique nationwide model of a forum that transcends city boundaries, Filmforum NRW has been a venue for film festivals, premieres, themed program series, conferences, lectures, and film discussions since 2006. The 257-seat cinema auditorium and the adjoining foyer offer a wide range of possibilities for hosting various events.

About the Filmforum NRW

As founding members of the Filmforum, the entire spectrum of film promoters and producers, filmmakers, film educators, and cineastes have come together to collaborate. These include the Filmstiftung NRW, the SK Stiftung Kultur, Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR), the ifs internationale filmschule köln, the Kunsthochschule für Medien, KölnMusik GmbH, the independent film scene association “KinoAktiv,” and the Museum Ludwig/City of Cologne.

Since 2009, the members of the Filmforum have been jointly designing film and lecture series that focus on a curated approach to film history. And it is not only the international films, which are often not available to see anywhere else, that are a highlight of the stories, but also the historical and thematic classification by internationally renowned filmmakers and media scientists (DIGITAL LESSONS, THE COMIC FILM, FILM STORIES, and much more).

The individual partners are responsible for the content and financing of all events.

Tickets for all events are available at the box office. Advance reservations are not possible. The Filmforum offers induction loops for the hearing impaired. The Filmforum is wheelchair accessible.
