Children's birthday parties

Children's birthday parties are fantastic. Especially if you can celebrate them someplace else. And also bring your own cake.

Almost all municipal museums have birthday themes.
The price includes admission for the children and for two accompanying adults.

Frequently Asked Questions

The earlier you book, the more likely you are to secure your preferred date.
Please include alternative dates and times in your inquiry. Please book at least two to three weeks in advance.

Our programs are designed for children ages 5 or 7 and up, and some programs are designed for children ages 8 and up—this is indicated individually for each workshop. Please understand that these age requirements must be strictly adhered to—they are related, among other things, to the specific creative and craft techniques involved in each program.

Yes, birthday parties are possible both on weekends and during the week.
The opening hours of the respective museum apply. During the week (Monday–Friday), the fee is slightly lower.

The event is divided into two parts: a tour of the respective exhibition, and a hands-on session in our workshops or studios. A snack break can be included, but is not required. At the Museum of East Asian Art, eating snacks you bring yourself with chopsticks is part of the program.

You are registered at the museum ticket office and pay there on the day of the event in cash or by debit card. Unfortunately, advance bank transfers are not possible.

If you need to cancel, please notify us by email at least five business days before your scheduled date. Otherwise, we will unfortunately have to bill you for the costs.

You will meet your guide at the museum ticket office.

There is a separate room for the birthday party. You can store your coats there. While you are touring the exhibition, our guide will lock the room.

Yes, a light snack may be eaten in the workshop. The group may bring their own food and drinks and should briefly coordinate with our guide in advance to determine when to take a break for this. Between the tour of the exhibition and the hands-on part of the workshop would certainly be a good opportunity. It would be helpful if you could assist us with cleanup and ensure the sustainability of the items you bring, e.g., using your own cups instead of single-use drink cartons.

As a rule, our workshop space is in high demand. Therefore, it is unfortunately not possible to decorate the room in advance or to wrap up the birthday party there after the event.

You are welcome to include the “gift-giving” part in your plans. Please help us dispose of any packaging materials properly.

2.5 hours – this time cannot be exceeded, as there are usually subsequent bookings for the room and the guide.

No, unfortunately there is no parking for visitors. We recommend traveling by public transportation. You can find information on how to get there on the respective websites of the individual museums.

In the workshop/studio and in the exhibition rooms, the duty of supervision remains with the guardians or the accompanying adults.

You can discuss the details with the guide in advance by phone or email.
Please note that these are highly experienced freelance staff members who conduct these preliminary discussions in their free time.
Please be mindful of appropriate calling times when phoning.

Yes – please let us know in advance so we can inform the guide. However, the total number of people must not be exceeded.

The museums are largely accessible. Some museums have accessible parking spaces in the immediate vicinity. An accessible restroom is available. Please also check the website of the respective museum and let us know if we can accommodate the special needs of a participating child.

This varies by museum – please check the website of the respective museum.
